WINTER WALKING TIPS
Be more cautious now that it gets darker sooner. Always assume that drivers CAN'T see you. Wear bright colors and reflective clothing. Remember to "sneak and peak" around snow banksand other parked cars. If you can't see them, they can't see you.
Watch out for slippery sidewalks and streets. Any wet or darkened surface may be icy. Wear boots and warm socks to keep your feet warm and balanced on the frozen surfaces. Walk more slowly and with a wider gait than normal...walk like a penguin to keep more balanced.
Remember that it is COLD outside...wear a hat, scarf, mittens/gloves and dress in layers.
